"1,500 lives lost 'since US troop pullout'

"Pakistan's Ambassador to the United States, Masood Khan, has shared significant updates on the Pakistan-U.S. relationship during a recent address at the New Mexico Global Santa Fe think tank. Over the past two years, he highlighted the successful cooperation in the security realm and the expansion of economic ties between the two nations.

Despite the U.S. troop withdrawal from Afghanistan and a reduced American presence in the region, Ambassador Khan emphasized that the threat of terrorism remains a substantial concern. The Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) continues to pose a significant threat, and sadly, more than 1,500 lives have been lost in Pakistan since the U.S. withdrawal from Afghanistan due to their actions.

Ambassador Khan stressed the joint commitment of both Pakistan and the United States to combat this menace through collaborative counterterrorism efforts. He underlined that the stability of the entire region is closely tied to achieving stability in Afghanistan, and both nations share the responsibility of contributing to Afghanistan's path towards stabilization.

Furthermore, Ambassador Masood Khan highlighted the importance of fostering people-to-people contacts and enhancing economic, trade, and investment ties as crucial aspects of the future of the bilateral relationship between Pakistan and the United States."
