Pakistan's skipper, Babar Azam, along with his team, has arrived in Colombo, Sri Lanka, gearing up for their Super 4 clash against arch-rivals India in the Asia Cup 2023. This highly anticipated showdown is scheduled for September 10th at the iconic R. Premadasa Stadium.


The Men in Green have already made a strong start, securing a victory in their opening match against Bangladesh. With this win, Pakistan aims to maintain their winning momentum as they prepare to face the formidable Indian team.


In a recent milestone, Babar Azam achieved a remarkable feat by surpassing India's star batter, Virat Kohli. During the Super 4 match against Bangladesh at Lahore's Gaddafi Stadium, Babar contributed 17 runs off 22 balls before falling victim to Bangladesh's pacer, Taskin Ahmed. However, this knock propelled him to a new world record of 2000 ODI runs as captain, achieved in just 31 innings. This accomplishment surpassed Virat Kohli's record, who had accomplished it in 36 innings. Notably, Babar didn't get a chance to bat in the first IND vs. PAK clash, but he is eager to showcase his batting prowess in their second Super 4 clash against India.


After the victory against Bangladesh, Babar expressed his confidence, stating, "This win will give us confidence, we are always ready for a big match. We will give our 100% in the next match." Pakistan has played all their home matches and has now shifted to Sri Lanka for the next stage of the tournament.
