 April 15: Public holiday declared.


The government has officially declared April 15th (Monday) as a public holiday due to the 'Oil Anointing Ceremony' coinciding with the Sinhala and Tamil New Year festival. Secretary Pradeep Yasaratne conveyed this decision.
