Pakistan and China have renewed their commitment to bolster cooperation within the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). During a meeting on the sidelines of the 15th Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Islamic Summit Conference in Banjul, Gambia, Pakistan's Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar and China's Vice Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress, Zheng Jian bang, emphasized the importance of enhancing and developing CPEC projects.


The discussions highlighted Pakistan's unwavering support for China's core issues and underscored the significance of deepening economic ties between the two nations. Both sides reaffirmed their strong strategic partnership and expressed determination to further elevate cooperation on CPEC initiatives.


In addition to focusing on CPEC, the meeting also touched upon strengthening parliamentary exchanges and enhancing China's engagement with the OIC. Vice Chairman Zheng Jianbang reiterated China’s unwavering support for Pakistan’s sovereignty, territorial integrity, and overall development.


This reaffirmation of commitment is indicative of the robust and enduring partnership between Pakistan and China. It sets the stage for continued progress and prosperity within the framework of CPEC, while also bolstering bilateral relations in other key areas of cooperation.
