The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has revealed the 15-member squad for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024, set in the USA and Caribbean, featuring star players Babar Azam and Mohammad Amir.
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has unveiled the 15-member squad for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024, set to take place in the USA and the Caribbean. The squad, led by Babar Azam, features the return of Mohammad Amir and Imad Wasim, both of whom ended their retirements earlier this year.
In a press release, the PCB detailed the selection process, which included a two-hour meeting of the selection committee comprising Abdul Razzaq, Asad Shafiq, Babar Azam, Bilal Afzal, Gary Kirsten, Mohammad Yousuf, and Wahab Riaz.
The squad includes several players making their T20 World Cup debut: Abrar Ahmed, Azam Khan, Mohammad Abbas Afridi, Saim Ayub, and Usman Khan. Mohammad Amir and Imad Wasim return to the World Cup stage after last appearing in 2016 and 2021, respectively. The remaining eight players were part of the 2022 tournament in Australia.
Describing the team as a "talented and balanced side," the PCB highlighted the blend of youth and experience in the squad. The statement also mentioned Haris Rauf’s recovery from a shoulder dislocation, expressing confidence in his performance for the World Cup.
Pakistan is currently in England for a four-match T20 series to prepare for the World Cup. The squad list is as follows:

- June 16: vs Ireland at Central Broward Park & Broward County Stadium, Lauderhill, Florida
Should Pakistan advance to the Super Eight, their matches will be:
- June 19: vs D1 in Antigua
- June 21: vs C2 in Barbados
- June 23: vs B1 in Barbados
