In a significant display of military cooperation, the annual Sino-Pak joint air exercise, known as Shaheen-X, has officially commenced in the cities of Jiuquan and Yinchuan in Northwest China. This collaborative endeavor involves the participation of Pakistan Air Force's (PAF) lead fighter aircraft, the J-10 C and JF-17, along with their dedicated air and ground crews.

Since 2011, the People’s Liberation Army Air Force (PLAAF) and PAF have jointly conducted the Shaheen exercises, taking turns hosting the event. This long-standing tradition underscores the strategic partnership between these two nations.

The primary objective of the Shaheen exercise is to enhance aerial combat tactics, operational readiness, and foster interoperability among the participating allies in the region. It serves as a platform to develop synergy in their military capabilities.

This year's exercise incorporates elements of modern warfare, including hybrid warfare, cyberspace operations, and advanced computing techniques. These additions are designed to boost the Pakistan Air Force's effectiveness in the rapidly evolving landscape of contemporary warfare.

The exercise also aims to leverage the strong bonds of friendship between Pakistan and China to develop a comprehensive defense strategy. This strategy will further enhance their ability to safeguard their respective aerial boundaries in the face of common challenges and threats.

The Shaheen-X exercise marks the tenth iteration of this joint aerial training between the venerable PLAAF and PAF. It symbolizes a remarkable effort to strengthen camaraderie and unity between the two air forces.

Overall, Shaheen-X is set to elevate the caliber of practical combat training for the participating pilots and dedicated personnel. This exercise not only demonstrates the commitment of Pakistan and China to their shared security interests but also represents a significant milestone in their ongoing collaboration in the realm of military aviation.
